Lutz Lienenkämper (born May 24, 1969 in Cologne ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He was Minister for Construction and Transport in North Rhine-Westphalia from 2009 to 2010 and has been a member of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia again as Minister of Finance ( Laschet cabinet ) since June 30, 2017 .

Life

After graduating from the Städtisches Meerbusch-Gymnasium in 1988, Lienenkämper studied law and political science at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . He passed the first state examination in law in 1994 and the second state examination in 1996. Since 1997 he has been practicing as a lawyer. Today he lives in Meerbusch - Strümp again .

politics

Lienenkämper has been a member of the CDU since 1988. From 1999 to 2010 he was chairman of the Meerbusch city association, from 1993 to 2009 a member of the city council of Meerbusch and from 2004 to 2009 a member of the district council of the Rhine district of Neuss , where he was also the parliamentary group chairman of the CDU. Since 2002 he has been a member of the CDU District Executive Committee of the Lower Rhine and since 2010 the State Executive Committee of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia.

Since June 8, 2005, he has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia , where he was a full member of the budget and finance committee, the petitions committee and the committee for economy, medium-sized enterprises and energy. He was also the spokesman for his party in the Committee on Economics, Small Business and Energy. In the early state elections on May 13, 2012, Lienenkämper was re-elected as a direct candidate in the state electoral district of Rhein-Kreis Neuss III and held the office of parliamentary manager for his parliamentary group in the 16th electoral period . In the state elections on May 24, 2017, he was re-elected to the state parliament with a direct mandate, and on June 30, 2017, Prime Minister Armin Laschet appointed him Minister of Finance of North Rhine-Westphalia.

On March 3, 2009, Lienenkämper was appointed Minister of Construction and Transport in the Rüttgers cabinet after Oliver Wittke resigned from office on February 11, 2009 as a result of a traffic offense that resulted in a two-month driving license being withdrawn and the public criticism that followed.
