Use Brusis

Ilse Brusis (born July 13, 1937 in Wattenscheid ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1990 to 2000 she was a member of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After graduating from high school, she studied at the Kettwig Pedagogical Academy (now a district of Essen ) from 1957 to 1960 and then worked in school until 1977, most recently as a school councilor.

From 1977 to 1981 she was chairwoman of the education and science union (GEW) in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). A few months after being voted out of office as chairwoman of the GEW in North Rhine-Westphalia, she was elected to the federal board of the DGB ; there she was responsible for education and youth.

politics

In 1969 she joined the SPD, and since 1984 she has been a member of the party executive.

She was elected to the state party executive of the SPD. This was the starting position for her further career when Johannes Rau appointed her to his cabinet. From 1990 to 1995 she was Minister for Building and Housing in North Rhine-Westphalia, from 1995 to 1998 Minister for Urban Development, Culture and Sport, and from 1998 to June 2000 Minister for Labor, Social Affairs and Urban Development, Culture and Sport .

She was a member of the state parliament from June 1, 1995 to March 9, 2005, and was also President of the Kunststiftung NRW .

Other offices

On March 4, 2005, she was elected to the ZDF Board of Directors by the ZDF Television Council. There she is deputy secretary of the board of directors and a member of the investment committee.
