Monika Heinold (born December 30, 1958 in Gütersloh ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

From 2000 to 2012 (end of the electoral term) she was the parliamentary manager of the Greens parliamentary group in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament . Since June 12, 2012, she has been Schleswig-Holstein's Finance Minister in the Albig (2012–2017) and Günther (2017) cabinets , and Heinold has also been First Deputy Prime Minister since February 6, 2018.

Life and work

After completing secondary school , Monika Heinold attended the technical school for educators in Schleswig , where she also obtained the technical diploma. She then worked in various socio-educational institutions. Monika Heinold has two sons.

The Greens in Schleswig-Holstein had nominated Monika Heinold as the top candidate for the state elections on September 27, 2009 . Heinold was also elected the top candidate of her party for the state elections on May 6, 2012 and for the state elections on May 7, 2017 .

Since June 12, 2012 she has been Finance Minister of Schleswig-Holstein - initially in the Albig cabinet of an SPD - Greens - SSW coalition (" coastal coalition ") and since June 2017 in the Günther cabinet as part of a Jamaica coalition of CDU , FDP and Greens .

On February 6, 2018, she was also appointed the new first deputy to the Prime Minister.
