Anke Spoorendonk b. Hinrichsen (born September 21, 1947 in Busdorf / Bustrup ) is a German politician of Danish nationality ( SSW ). From June 12, 2012 to June 28, 2017, she was Schleswig-Holstein's Minister for Justice, Culture and Europe in the Albig Cabinet and Second Deputy to the Prime Minister.

Life and work

Anke Spoorendonk belongs to the Danish minority in southern Schleswig. After graduating from high school in 1966 at the Danish Duborg-Skolen grammar school in Flensburg , she studied German and history in Copenhagen and graduated in 1976 as cand. Mag. from. After completing her traineeship as a teacher , she was a teacher at the Duborg-Skolen in Flensburg from 1977 .

Anke Spoorendonk is widowed and has two children.

Political party

Anke Spoorendonk is a member of the SSW and has been a member of the board of the SSW district association Flensburg-Land and the SSW regional board since 1992 .

MPs

From 1990 to 1996 Anke Spoorendonk was a member of the district council for the Schleswig-Flensburg district .

From 1996 she was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament for the SSW exempt from the five percent hurdle . Here she was chairwoman of the SSW state parliament group until 2009. When the SSW achieved parliamentary strength for the first time since 1950 with four members in the state elections in 2009 , she was elected parliamentary group leader.

Under her leadership, after the state elections in spring 2005, the SSW agreed to tolerate a red-green minority government. Since Heide Simonis was unable to achieve a majority in four ballots in the Prime Minister's election on March 17, 2005 , Anke Spoorendonk withdrew the offer of tolerance for the SSW.

Because of her willingness to tolerate a red-green state government under Heide Simonis , Anke Spoorendonk received an anonymous death threat in March 2005. She was under police protection for several weeks.

Anke Spoorendonk always entered the state parliament via the state list . In addition, she has been a member of the Federal Assembly five times (1999, 2004, 2009, 2010 and 2012) , each time as the sole representative of the SSW.

Minister of Justice of the State of Schleswig-Holstein

In the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2012 , she was the top candidate of her party. As part of the subsequent government participation of SSW in the red-green-blue coalition, Spoorendonk became Minister for Justice, Europe and Culture in the Albig cabinet on June 12, 2012 . On the same day, she resigned from her state parliament mandate. As Minister of Justice, she was one of the two non-lawyers who held this office at state level during her tenure, alongside the Bremen Justice Senator Martin Günthner (SPD). Even before her, with the political scientist Gerd Walter and the graduate in administration (FH) Uwe Döring, two non-lawyers were in charge of the Kiel Ministry of Justice. She is the first SSW politician to hold ministerial posts in the party's history since 1948.

Since June 12, 2012, Spoorendonk was also a member of the Federal Council by resolution of the Schleswig-Holstein state government . There she was a member of the European Chamber, the Committee on European Union Issues, the Committee on Cultural Issues, the Legal Committee and the German-Russian Friendship Group.

Honors

On March 3, 2008, Anke Spoorendonk was named "Knight of the Order of Dannebrog " by Queen Margrethe of Denmark .
