Uwe Döring.

Uwe Döring (born June 27, 1946 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2005 to July 2009 he was Minister for Justice, Labor and Europe of the State of Schleswig-Holstein and has been State Chairman of the Europa-Union Schleswig-Holstein since September 2010.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Hamburg in 1967, Döring did his military service from 1967 to 1968, then completed training as a senior administrative service and then worked on the planning staff of the President of the University of Hamburg from 1971 to 1975 . He then moved to the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Education, where he last worked as a consultant for fundamental issues in information technology. Now promoted to the higher service, Döring worked from 1990 to 1992 in the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of the Interior and then until 1996 as head of budget in the local Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forests and Fisheries. From 2011 to 2018 Uwe Döring was state chairman of the White Ring in Schleswig-Holstein.

Uwe Döring is married and has a grown daughter.

Political party

He has been a member of the SPD since 1967. From 1983 to 1991 he was chairman of the local SPD association Neumünster-Tungendorf, and from 1999 to 2005 chairman of the Neumünster district association. From 2003 to 2007 he chaired the Schleswig-Holstein State Party Council.

MP

From 1986 to 1998, 2013 to 2016 Döring belonged to the council of Neumünster. He was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 1991 to 1998 and from 2013 to 2016.

From 1996 to 1998 Döring was a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein .

Public offices

From 1990 to 1995 he was an honorary councilor for the city of Neumünster.

On December 1, 1998, he was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Energy to the state government of Schleswig-Holstein headed by Prime Minister Heide Simonis .

From April 27, 2005, he was a member of the cabinet of the grand coalition led by Prime Minister Peter Harry Carstensen ( CDU ) as Minister for Justice, Labor and Europe.

During his tenure as minister, the days of mistreatment of a prisoner in a juvenile detention center fell in February 2007. He said: “Juvenile institutions are not a school camp”.

After the break of the grand coalition in July 2009, Döring, like all other SPD ministers, was dismissed from his office in the state government by Peter Harry Carstensen on July 20, 2009 at the end of July 21, 2009. Döring's successor as Minister of Justice was taken over by Peter Harry Carstensen himself.
