The Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Youth, Families and Senior Citizens of Land Schleswig-Holstein (MSGJFS) is the country's Ministry of Social Affairs of Schleswig-Holstein . Heiner Garg ( FDP ) has been Minister in the Günther cabinet since June 28, 2017 . State Secretary is Matthias Badenhop (FDP). The ministry employs around 330 people. The ministry is divided into the staff area and departments.

  • Department 1 (General Department) is responsible for organization, budget, personnel, information technology and legal services.
  • Department 2 (Social Affairs) is responsible for the topics of social security systems: pensions, statutory health insurance, long-term care insurance. Prevention, occupational and consumer protection.
  • In Department 3 (Children, Youth, Family and State Youth Welfare Office), in addition to the topics mentioned, the task of the State Youth Welfare Office as the highest state youth authority is located.
  • Department 4 (health) deals with health policy, health initiatives, health professions, hospitals, environmental health protection and penal measures.

The reactor safety and radiation protection department was responsible for nuclear supervision . Today it is subject to the Ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas.

Initiated by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Schleswig-Holstein network operates on Workplace Health Promotion GESA ( acronym for Total undheit on A ork ) from winning more businesses and government agencies for WHP. GESA networks Schleswig-Holstein experts in occupational health promotion and facilitates their cooperation and the exchange of information and experience. Furthermore, it should be made easier for companies to contact the experts.

In the network, health insurance companies, professional associations, business associations, trade unions, occupational safety authorities, universities, professional and specialist associations, company doctors and consultants have come together as cooperation partners. Since 2002 they have been pursuing their common goal of wanting to win over more companies in Schleswig-Holstein for corporate health promotion.
