history
Until the church is planted
Lupburg was first mentioned in a document in 960. With the death of Konrad von Lupburg in 1313 (Bishop of Regensburg since 1296), the local aristocracy of the Lupburg family died out and their castle Lupburg and the place came into the possession of the Regensburg Monastery . In 1387 Duke Friedrich von Bayern acquired the property. In 1392 the Lupburg market was pledged to the knight Hans von Parsberg and remained in the possession of the Parsbergers until 1572. Then the place came to the Duchy of Pfalz-Neuburg and became the seat of a nursing office. Under Count Palatine Philipp Ludwig , the place was given market rights and the coat of arms on October 21, 1586. When the Kingdom of Bavaria was founded in 1806, the Lupburg nursing office was dissolved. Today's community was created with the community edict of 1818.
Administrative community
In the period from 1978 to 2001 there was an administrative partnership with the city of Parsberg . The government of the Upper Palatinate had previously ordered the formation of this administrative community. In a public survey in 2001, around 76 percent of Lupburg's citizens voted for their own administration. The Bavarian State Parliament followed the referendum and dissolved the Parsberg administrative community .
Incorporations
On January 1, 1972, part of the dissolved See municipality was incorporated with the villages of Seibertshofen, Niederhofen and Dettenhofen. Since May 1, 1978, the greater part of the dissolved municipality of Degerndorf has also belonged to Markt Lupburg.

Between 1988 and 2018 the market grew from 1,972 to 2,442 by 470 inhabitants or 23.8%.
