Roswitha Riess

Roswitha Riess (born February 4, 1937 in Mariabrunn (Eriskirch) ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

Riess attended high school and studied educational science at the PH in Weingarten . In 1958 she passed the 1st and in 1962 the 2nd teaching examination.

Riess later moved to Bavaria, where she became a member of the CSU in 1965. She was first a local councilor in Haar and then a district councilor in the Munich district . From 1990 to 2003 she was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . She won the direct mandate in the district of Munich-Land-Nord in all three electoral terms . From 1994 to 1998 she was also deputy chairman of the CSU parliamentary group in the state parliament. From 1998 to 2003 she was 2nd Vice-President of Parliament.

Her mother, Elisabeth Steib (1901–2010), was the fifth oldest woman in Germany.
