Uschi Zietsch (born August 3, 1961 in Munich ) is a German author of - among other things - fantasy novels, science fiction adventures, children's and animal books. Sometimes she writes novels and short stories under the pseudonym Susan Schwartz as well as TV novels and thrillers under other pseudonyms. She also works as a travel photographer and publisher .

Life

Uschi Zietsch, daughter of the Bavarian politician Friedrich Zietsch , graduated from high school in Munich at the age of 18 and then studied law, politics, theater studies and history. She started writing as a child.

As early as 1977 she came up with Das Träumende Universum and in 1978 she approached the publishers with the first 1000-page novel from it. Because the work was too extensive to be published for the first time, Uschi Zietsch wrote shorter novels about it. So it came 1986 first publication of star cloud and Eiszauber in Heyne Verlag .

However, since she could not find sufficient publication opportunities for her further ideas, she and her husband founded their own publishing house in 1987 under the name Fabylon , in which they published further works. In addition to Der Traum der Wintersonne (1988), a Celtic fairy tale that was well received and quickly developed into the young publisher's bestseller, another novel from the dreaming universe came out in 1990 with The Star of the Gods Welt Waldsee had as the setting. This was followed by the cycle of Die Chroniken von Waldsee from 2006, currently in five volumes.

In 1991 she came to the Frankfurt Book Fair with Werner Fuchs , Fantasy Productions (publisher, among other things, for the role-playing game Das Schwarze Auge ), and with Dr. Florian Marzin , the editor-in-chief of Pabel-Moewig Verlag at the time, and wrote two Aventuria novels, more than 80 booklet novels for the SF series Perry Rhodan , several volumes of the Perry Rhodan Neo series as well as contributions to the sister series Atlan , in which she worked for one Cycle also took over the editing of the reader contact page. She also wrote for the science fiction series Bad Earth and wrote booklet novels and hardcover for the SciFi-Fantasy-Endzeit-Mix Maddrax and for the novel series for the computer game SpellForce: The Order of Dawn .

In spring 2007 Fabylon started the science fantasy series SunQuest with her as co-author and editor and ended in August 2010. A total of 12 paperbacks came out, each written by two authors. In addition to numerous first publications by young authors (e.g. Dennis Mathiak, Laura Flöter, Alex Nofftz), experienced authors such as Ernst Vlcek , Uwe Anton and Hubert Haensel could be won over to work.

In October 2008, the 20-part monthly fantasy series Elfenzeit began in the Bertelsmann Book Club (BS editions), for which she created the concept, wrote the exposés and co-wrote the novels (under her alias Susan Schwartz ). Elfenzeit is a modern urban fantasy series that combines global myths and reality and is set in many places around the world. From January 2012, the 15-part fantasy series Schattenlord was published in the Bertelsmann Book Club (BS editions) as a spin-off of the Elfenzeit series. Shortly after that in the same year, Bastei-Lübbe published Der Fluch der Halflinge under the pseudonym Prisca Burrows , which was continued in 2014 with The Sacrifice of the Bogins .

From 2017, after 14 years of occasional collaboration, Uschi Zietsch returned to being a permanent team author for the Perry Rhodan series , for which she regularly wrote novels under her pseudonym Susan Schwartz .

Uschi Zietsch lives as a freelance writer on a farm in the Unterallgäu district and, in addition to her writing activities , gives writing seminars for aspiring authors in Austria and Germany. She produces books at Fabylon , where she is co-owner, editor, editor and proofreader. Most of her novels are published in print formats and as eBooks .
