The Yotsume Rocks ( Japanese 四 つ 目 岩 Yotsume-iwa , German 'rocks with four eyes' , Norwegian Firaugnutane ) are four prominent rocky outcrops on the Prince Harald Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . On the southwestern bank of the Lützow-Holm-Bucht they rise up on the north side of the Djupvikneset peninsula .
Norwegian cartographers mapped them using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . Scientists of the Japanese Antarctic Expedition, which was carried out from 1957 to 1962, carried out measurements and the descriptive naming. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated them into English in 1968.
