The Prince Harald Coast ( Norwegian Prins Harald Kyst ) is part of the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It includes the Lützow-Holm-Bucht and extends from its eastern entrance to the Riiser-Larsen peninsula on 34 ° east longitude. The Princess Ragnhild Coast connects to the west and the Crown Prince Olav Coast to the east .
It was discovered on February 4, 1937 on a flight by Viggo Wideroe, Nils Romnaes and Ingrid Christensen during the Lars Christensen Expedition 1936/37 and named after Harald (* 1937), the son of the then Norwegian Crown Prince Olav .
1973 Norway restricted the name Prins Harald Kyst to the western part of the coast up to the Shirase Glacier ; for the eastern part it took over the Japanese name Soya Coast .
