Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica
The Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica (English, abbreviated CGA , dt. "Summarized local directory of Antarctica ") of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) is the binding international directory of all geographical names relating to Antarctica , which are published in national local directories. In addition, it contains the submarine objects south of latitude 60 ° south of the local directory of the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO), which is under the leadership of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO ).
As of February 2013, the CGA contains 36,997 geographic names for 18,998 properties, including approximately 500 properties with two or more completely different names, compiled from the following sources:
