The Friedrich-Ebert-Park is a listed park in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located south to the left of the Bode, east of the historic Quedlinburger Neustadt and takes up the area of ​​Friedrich-Ebert-Platz. Bahnhofstrasse runs along the park and leads from Quedlinburg train station to the east into the city center. The park is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register.

Architecture and history

The park was laid out in the second half of the 19th century as an imperial park in the area of ​​the former city wall. To the east of Bahnhofsstraße, the park was given a baroque design, to the west a landscape park was created in the shape of the 19th century. In 1895, a victory memorial created by the Quedlinburg sculptor Richard Anders was inaugurated on the square then called Kaiser-Wilhelm-Platz , which was demolished in 1946.

In 1898 the monument Peace protected by weapons was erected west of Bahnhofstrasse , which was removed in 1945.
