Thomas Habermann (born December 23, 1956 in Schweinfurt ) is a German lawyer and local politician ( CSU ).

Habermann graduated from the Rhön-Gymnasium in Bad Neustadt an der Saale in 1976 and then studied law at the Universities of Augsburg and Erlangen . During his three-year legal traineeship, he worked in courts in the area of ​​the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court and in the government of Middle Franconia . In 1984 he was admitted to the bar and founded his own law firm in Lauf .

From 1984 to 2002 he was a judge and public prosecutor in Nuremberg, Mellrichstadt, Schweinfurt, Bad Neustadt and Meiningen. From 2002 to 2003 he was a judge at the Bamberg Higher Regional Court . In 2003 he was elected district administrator of the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld and confirmed in office in 2008 and 2014. On March 15, 2020, he was elected for a further six years with 63.69% of the vote - with three competitors.

He is a member of the Lower Franconia District Board of the CSU and chairman of the Lower Franconia District Association of the Bavarian District Assembly . As a representative of the district assembly, Habermann is a member of the Broadcasting Council of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation .

In 2013 he and Thomas Bold were awarded the Bavarian State Medal for special services to the environment .
