Bavarian State Medal for special services to the environment
The Bavarian State Medal for Special Services to the Environment is an award from the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection , which has been awarded since 2009 to people, associations or municipalities who have made outstanding contributions to nature and environmental protection . It is usually awarded a maximum of 15 times a year.
The medal is made of fine silver and shows the large Bavarian state coat of arms on the front and a tree on the back. It is accompanied by a certificate and a pin with the large national coat of arms.
The Bavarian State Medal for Services to the Environment replaced the Bavarian State Medal for Services to the Environment and Health , which was awarded since 2004. It is therefore also the successor to the original Bavarian Environmental Medal , which existed in various forms from 1972 to 2003.
The Bavarian State Medal for Services to the Environment should not be confused with the Bavarian Nature Conservation Medal , which the Association for Nature Conservation in Bavaria has awarded since 1970.
