Bavarian State Medal for Services to Environment and Health
The Bavarian State Medal for Services to Environment and Health was awarded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Environment and Health between 2004 and 2008 for services to the protection of the environment, health and consumers.
It was donated in 2004 by the then Bavarian State Minister for the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection Werner Schnappauf and was the successor to the Bavarian Environmental Medal , which was donated in 1972 by the then State Minister Max Streibl . It was awarded annually to up to 30 personalities and associations. Since 2009 there have been separate awards: the Bavarian State Medal for Services to the Environment and the Bavarian State Medal for Services to Health .
The state medal for services to the environment and health was not a medal or badge of honor in the sense of Art. 118 Para. 5 of the Constitution of the Free State of Bavaria and is not intended to be worn in public.
