The government of Middle Franconia is a central state authority for the administrative region of Middle Franconia with its seat in Ansbach . It is one of seven middle authorities in the Free State of Bavaria .
Organization, tasks and activities

The government of Middle Franconia is divided into the following areas:
- Bureau
- Area 1 (security, communal and social issues)
- Area 2 (economy, regional development and transport)
- Area 3 (planning and construction)
- Area 4 (schools)
- Area 5 (environment, health and consumer protection)
- Area 6 (Food and Agriculture)
- Trade Inspectorate
tasks
The government is the " middle authority in a three-tier administrative structure between the Bavarian State Ministries and the authorities of the lower tier (e.g. district offices )".
The government
- bundles and coordinates the technical interests of the Bavarian State Ministries at the level of the government district.
- awards state funding for private and public projects.
- is the state supervision of a large number of subordinate authorities and local authorities; it is also the objection authority.
Among other things, it publishes the Central Franconian Official Gazette , the Middle Franconian School Gazette and the decisions of the North Bavarian Procurement Chamber.
Authority management
Since January 1, 2008, Thomas Bauer has been the head of the authorities (district president); Kerstin Engelhardt-Blum has been Government Vice President since April 1, 2019.
