Karl Inhofer

Karl Inhofer (born December 28, 1942 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ; † October 13, 2016 in Munich ) was a German administrative officer. From 1995 to 2007 he was regional president of the Bavarian administrative district of Middle Franconia .

Life

Inhofer studied at the Technical University of Munich Law . During this time he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Commercial and Patent Law at the Technical University of Munich. In 1969 he graduated with the second state examination in law.

He joined the Bavarian civil service in 1970 and took on various positions in the government of Upper Bavaria , at the Miesbach district office and in the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior . From May 1, 1990 he worked as a consultant in the Ministry of the Interior of the GDR and on November 13, 1990, he moved to the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior in Erfurt as head of the Constitutional and Administrative Law department . On October 1, 1991, he returned to Munich and became head of department and deputy head of department in the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior.

From May 1, 1992, Inhofer was next to Heinrich von Mosch Vice President of the Government of Middle Franconia and, after his resignation on November 1, 1995, took over the office of District President. As chairman of the board of the West Bavarian Technology Transfer Institute e. V. (WETTI), as a member of the board of trustees of the association "Die Region Nürnberg eV" and as a sponsor of the founding of the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences , he was particularly committed to the development of research policy in the Middle Franconia region. He was also the chairman of the basic contract committee of the transport association for the greater Nuremberg area (VGN) .

After reaching the age limit, he left the office of regional president at the end of 2007. Thomas Bauer was appointed as his successor .

Inhofer was also President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Organ Week Nuremberg Musica sacra (ION) until 2008, and later its Honorary President. He was chairman of the foundation committee of the Windsbacher Knabenchor Foundation and 1st chairman of the Historical Association of Middle Franconia

Inhofer spent his retirement in Munich.
