Heinrich Detloff von Kalben

Heinrich Detloff von Kalben (born January 17, 1898 in Gardelegen , † December 18, 1966 in Lübeck ) was a German National Socialist politician.

Life

The farmer and professional officer, son of Rudolf von Kalben , who came from an aristocratic family in Altmark , took his leave as first lieutenant after the First World War and worked on his parents' estate in Vienau.

He joined the NSDAP on April 1, 1930 , sat for them in the Prussian state parliament and in the provincial parliament of the province of Saxony, and between July 1932 and December 1938 was a district inspector in the Gau Magdeburg-Anhalt and Reich speaker of the NSDAP. In 1933 he took over the office of district administrator in the Prussian district of Stendal . He held this office until 1944.

From 1944 until the end of the war he held the office of regional president in the administrative region of Upper Franconia and Middle Franconia in Bavaria .

He also served until 1944, most recently as colonel of the reserve and commander of a Cossack cavalry regiment, in the corps of General Helmuth von Pannwitz .

After the war, von Kalben made a name for himself as an author on the regional history of the Altmark and was instrumental in founding the Schild publishing house in 1953 . a. published the German Soldier's Yearbook. In 1952 he was one of the founders of the Society for Military Studies .
