Thomas Bauer (administrative officer)

Thomas Bauer (born August 7, 1957 in Nuremberg ) is a German administrative officer. Since the beginning of 2008 he has been the regional president of the Bavarian district of Middle Franconia .

Career

Bauer studied law and social sciences at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . During this time he worked as a research assistant at the Chair for German and International Tax Law and at the Chair for Social Policy. After passing the second state examination in 1986, he joined the Bavarian civil service in 1987 as a civil servant. In the following years he worked for the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior , the Ministry of the Interior of the GDR , the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior , the Fürth District Office and the government of Middle Franconia.

From May 1, 2007 he was Vice President of the Government of Middle Franconia. On December 11, 2007, the Bavarian Council of Ministers appointed him to succeed the District President Karl Inhofer, who left office at the end of the year .

Bauer is a member of the jury for the Wolfram von Eschenbach Prize . He is also a member of the board of directors of the German War Graves Commission .

Works

Bauer is co-author of a commentary on municipal constitutional law in Bavaria.
