Erich Haniel

Erich Haniel (* 1933 ) is a German administrative lawyer and former district president of Upper Franconia .

Career

Erich Haniel studied law and, after completing his doctorate in 1961, joined the Bavarian state services at the Faculty of Law at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg . From 1976 to 1986 he was government vice-president of Upper Bavaria and at the same time Starnberg CSU district chairman. After a brief intermezzo as a ministerial director in the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, he was regional president of Upper Franconia from 1989 to 1998, based in Bayreuth . In retirement, Haniel was the deputy state chairman of the German War Graves Commission . Today he lives in Starnberg .
