Heidrun Piwernetz

Heidrun Piwernetz (born August 30, 1962 in Bayreuth ) is a German lawyer. Since 2016 she has been the district president of the Upper Franconian district .

Life

Heidrun Piwernetz studied law in Bayreuth . She began her professional career in January 1988 with the government of Upper Franconia . After a short interim position as head of the department for building and environmental law at the Coburg district office , she headed the public relations department of the government of Upper Franconia from May 1990. From April 1992 to February 1995 she was press officer at the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior in Munich. From there she moved to the press office of the Bavarian State Chancellery and returned to the Ministry of the Interior in October 1996 as a personal assistant to Günther Beckstein, then Minister of the Interior. In March 2000 she was appointed Vice-President of the Government of Lower Franconia , and in 2004 she was appointed Vice- President of the Government of Upper Bavaria . From February 2007 to April 2010 she headed the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the European Union in Brussels . From 2010 to 2016, Piwernetz was general prosecutor at the Bavarian State Prosecutor's Office . On February 26, 2016, she was appointed regional president of the district of Upper Franconia and took office on March 1, 2016.
