With effect from October 1, 1879, an administrative court was created for the Kingdom of Bavaria for a then still limited area of public law disputes. At the same time, “a public prosecutor with the required number of secondary officials was set up to represent the public interest”. This public prosecutor's office at the Bavarian Administrative Court has become the state prosecutor's office of Bavaria in its current form over the course of more than 140 years of history after numerous legal and status changes.
