action

The film begins with the fade-in: "A Swiss legend tells of three shepherds who got involved with the forces of evil and were severely punished for their iniquity." Two shepherds and a young man spend longer periods of time with their cattle during the cattle drive on a secluded hut in the Swiss Alps . All three are simple-minded who at first conscientiously go about their hard work. However, loneliness and sexual abstinence lead to a kind of camp fright in men . The horniness and boredom lead one of the men to build a female doll to have a fetish. When he utters a mantra, a shawl comes to life and chokes him for a short time. The men dismiss this as a delusion. One of the older men tries to sexually harass the young man, which the other prevents with violence. The eldest of the men tries to maintain morality and decency, he protects the young one and he does not curse. But even the oldest changes over time. When the two older men drunk on the doll, it turns into a lively beautiful woman. One of the men immediately tries to rape her and the woman turns back into the doll. When the men woke up the next morning, they stopped addressing the subject. You assume that it was a dream. The young man discovers the woman again in the pasture and returns to the hut without a word and confused. He doesn't tell the others about it. The next morning she appears to everyone. One of the men tries to rape her, but the other prevents her. Then the events roll over: the men who first try to have the woman desecrated by a bull chain one of the men to the hut. They are chasing the woman who falls from a cliff. The woman, however, has supernatural powers, reappears immediately and skins the bound man alive. The surviving men hide in the hut for the night and want to leave the pasture the next day. The woman appears again and strangles one of the men who endures this without resistance. Then she slits it open. When she faces the young man, he crosses himself and the woman becomes invisible and disappears. In a panic, the young man runs down to the village. The men from the village climb the mountain pasture, build a female doll and burn it to banish the curse.

Production notes

Reviews

“On a remote alpine pasture, two men and a boy from roots and rags form a woman who comes to life and destroys the men because it is the devil himself. An archaic Heimat film, which goes back to a Swiss legend and tries to heat up the imagination with its tangled depiction and diverse sexual references. "
