The Battlements nunatak is a large nunatak in East Antarctica Victoria Land . It rises 10 km northwest of the Allan Hills at the head of the Mawson Glacier . The Nunatak is mainly ice-free and has several small minor peaks on a line west of the main peak.
The New Zealand team of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) discovered it and named it descriptively, as its peaks like the battlements (English battlements ) seem a castle.
