Armin Kroder (born March 6, 1973 ) is a German local politician and lawyer from Middle Franconia . He is a member of the Free Voters and since 2008 incumbent district administrator of the Middle Franconian district of Nürnberger Land . Since 2018, he has also been President of the Central Franconian District Assembly.

biography

Armin Kroder comes from Neunkirchen am Sand , where his parents run a full-time farm. After attending elementary school in Neunkirchen, he graduated from Paul-Pfinzing-Gymnasium in Hersbruck and then did his basic military service. Then he studied law in Erlangen . After completing his studies, his legal clerkship took him to several positions in the Nuremberg region. In addition to the district court of Hersbruck , several law firms and  Siemens , this also included the district office of the district of Nürnberger Land for the first time. Kroder began his professional career at the administrative court in Regensburg , where he became a judge at the age of 27. In 2002 he moved to the district office of Nürnberger Land, where he was head of the department for public safety and order and local public transport . He exercised this function until he took up his position as district administrator.

In 2013, Kroder was elected to the district assembly of Middle Franconia and was another deputy of the president for five years until he was elected district assembly president himself in 2018.

politics

At the beginning of 2008, the then 34-year-old Kroder was nominated by the Free Voters as a candidate for the upcoming district election. District Administrator Helmut Reich , who is retiring for reasons of age, described him as a preferred candidate for his successor. In the first ballot on March 2, Kroder was only able to achieve the second-best voting result. In the runoff election held on March 16, 2008, however, he was able to prevail against his opponent with a majority of almost 60 percent.

In the run-up to the district elections in 2008, Kroder had pointed out that he was not politically active, as well as admitting a certain inexperience in political matters. However, since about 70 percent of the tasks of a district administrator would only be of a state authority nature and therefore have little to do with politics, this would not pose a real problem. Instead, it is more important to have legal knowledge to work as a district administrator.

In 2014, Armin Kroder was confirmed in office with 57.52 percent of the votes in the first ballot. Shortly before, he was elected Chairman of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region .

Private

Kroder is married and lives with his family on their parents' farm.
