Ernst Koerner

Ernst grains (* 23. April 1899 in Würzburg ; † 16th August 1952 in Ansbach ) was a German SPD - politician and mayor of Ansbach.

biography

After training as a saddler , he worked in Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf from 1915 to 1917 . After serving in the First World War , he was an active functionary in the Free Trade Union and the SPD. From 1930 he worked in Ansbach as a branch manager of the "Fränkische Tagespost". After the National Socialists came to power , he was taken into protective custody and spent some time in the Dachau concentration camp as a political prisoner. After his release from the Dachau concentration camp, Körner was temporarily unemployed until he worked in various companies, including as the technical manager of a leather goods company in Stettin . In October 1945 he was appointed Lord Mayor of Ansbach by the American military government to succeed Hans Schregles and remained in office until 1950. After his time as Lord Mayor, he remained on the city council of Ansbach. At the same time he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament for the constituency of Middle Franconia from 1946 until his death in 1952 .

During his time in Parliament he was on several committees, such as the Committee on Pay and the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs.

The Ernst-Körner-Ring in the Meinhardswinden district is named after him.
