The Pegnitz-Zeitung (PZ) is the local daily newspaper for Lauf an der Pegnitz , Röthenbach an der Pegnitz , Schnaittach and the surrounding area. With a sold circulation of 10,662 copies (including partial circulation of the Nordbayerische Zeitung ), a decrease of 25.5 percent since 1998, it covers the western part of the district of Nürnberger Land . The Pegnitz-Zeitung has been getting its cover from the Nürnberger Nachrichten since 1959 , and it is published by Fahner-Verlag.

history

The newspaper and publishing house were founded by Hans Fahner, the grandfather and great-grandfather of today's publishing families. The first edition appeared on June 19, 1907. While the Pegnitz-Zeitung initially had a full editorial team , it has been linked to the Nürnberger Nachrichten in the so-called NN model since 1959 . The shell pages are produced in Nuremberg, the local editorial office is based in Lauf. The Pegnitz-Zeitung is also available as a Nordbayerische Zeitung with the cover of the Nürnberger Zeitung .

The Pegnitz-Zeitung is printed today in Druckhaus Nürnberg , the printing house of the Nürnberger Nachrichten . Until 2005, however, the local section was still produced on a rotary press in Lauf - it was only since the relocation that the sheet appeared almost entirely in color.

Since 1998, the Pegnitz-Zeitung has been cooperating with the two other local newspapers in the district in the Nürnberger Land media association . Together with the messenger from Feucht and the Hersbrucker Zeitung , the publisher operates, among other things, the internet portal n-land.de.

Since September 2010 the Hersbrucker Zeitung has published the free advertising paper Die Woche im Pegnitztal (WiP) every Wednesday together with the Pegnitz-Zeitung . The edition of the sheet is 48,000 copies.

The Pegnitz newspaper , like most German newspapers in recent years to rest lost. The circulation sold has fallen by an average of 2% per year over the past 10 years. Last year it decreased by 3.8%. It is currently 10,662 copies. The share of subscriptions in the circulation sold is 91.2 percent.
