Anton Knapp

Anton Knapp (born May 31, 1955 in Ingolstadt ) is a German local politician ( CSU ).

Life

Anton Knapp attended the elementary school in Gaimersheim from 1961 to 1967 , the Ickstatt secondary school in Ingolstadt from 1967 to 1971 and then attended the technical college in Ingolstadt for two years . Knapp completed his studies in electrical engineering at the Technical University of Munich as a graduate engineer and then worked in the aircraft industry.

In 1978 he was elected to the district council of the Eichstätt district for the first time , and in the local elections in 1984 he was also first mayor of his home town of Gaimersheim. From 1996 he was deputy to District Administrator Xaver Bittl . When he no longer ran for election, Knapp was elected as his successor on March 2, 2008 . He prevailed in the first ballot with 63.6 percent of the valid votes. In the 2014 local elections , he was able to improve this result to 66.8 percent. In the 2020 district council election, Knapp no ​​longer ran for a possible third term. His party colleague Alexander Anetsberger was elected as his successor in the second ballot .

Knapp is married and has three children.
