Erich Josef Geßner

Erich Josef Gessner (* 14. August 1944 ) is a Bavarian local politician ( CSU ) and was from 1 May 1996 to 30 April 2014 District Administrator of the Neu-Ulm . In the local elections on March 2, 2008, Geßner achieved 63.9 percent of the vote. From 1972 to 1976 he was mayor of the Altenstadt market and from 1976 to 1996 mayor of the city of Vöhringen .

Honors

Geßner has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon , the municipal silver medal, of the Bavarian Order of Merit since July 13, 2005 and a knight of the New Year's Eve since July 4, 2006 . Together with his wife, he founded the Roggenburg Premonstratensian Foundation, located in the Roggenburg Abbey , in 2004 .
