Johann Fleschhut
Johann Fleschhut (born February 25, 1956 in Wolfertschwenden ) is a Bavarian local politician ( free voters ). From 2002 to 2014 he was district administrator of the Ostallgäu district .
Career
Johann Fleschhut was born the son of a farmer and grew up on his parents' farm in Wolfertschwenden. His father and grandfather already served as honorary mayors.
After graduating from Bernhard-Strigel-Gymnasium in Memmingen in 1976 and studying law at the University of Augsburg , he worked as a legal advisor at a consulting company in Krumbach (Swabia) .
For ten years Fleschhut was a conductor with the Wolfertschwendener Musikanten eV
His political career began in 1987 when he joined the Free Voters of Bavaria . He was mayor of the Bad Grönenbach market for 15 years and parliamentary group spokesman in the Unterallgäu district council and district chairman of the Unterallgäu Free Voters for twelve years . From 1996 to 2006 he was the deputy state chairman of the Free Voters Bavaria.
In the local elections in spring 2002 he was elected to the office of district administrator in the Ostallgäu district after a runoff election and was confirmed in office in March 2008. On May 23, 2009 Fleschhut was a member of the 13th Federal Assembly . He has been a member of the Swabian District Assembly since 2009 . On March 30, 2014, Fleschhut was defeated by the CSU challenger Maria-Rita Zinnecker in the runoff election for District Administrator of the Ostallgäu, with 46.15% to 53.85% of the vote.
Johann Fleschhut is also chairman of the board of the “Kulturstiftung Klingendes Schwaben - Stiftung Christl und Karl Kling ” and chairman of the board of the “Sozialstiftung Ostallgäu - Kaiser´sche Armen- und Krankenstiftung”. In addition, he acts as chairman of the “Allgäuer Moorallianz” association and the Ostallgäu tourism association. Johann Fleschhut is deputy chairman of the Allgäu-Bavarian Swabian tourist board and of Allgäu GmbH.
Fleschhut is married and has two children.
