Maria Rita Zinnecker

Maria Rita Zinnecker (born December 13, 1964 in Leutkirch im Allgäu ) is a German local politician ( CSU ). Since 2014 she has been the district administrator of the Ostallgäu district and thus the first woman in this office in the Ostallgäu district.

Career

Maria Rita Zinnecker was born as the daughter of a farmer and grew up on her parents' farm in Rieden. She studied ecotrophology at the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan and graduated with a Dipl. Oec. troph. (univ.). Since July 2010 she has been the head of the Office for Food, Agriculture and Forestry and the Kaufbeuren Agricultural School.

On March 30, 2014 she won the runoff election against the previously incumbent District Administrator Johann Fleschhut ( Free Voters ) in the Ostallgäu district. On March 15, 2020, Zinnecker was confirmed in office for another six years in the local elections. She prevailed over three competitors in the first ballot. The specialist committee for regional development and the environment of the Bavarian district assembly appointed her chairman on June 22, 2020. On July 21, 2020 she was also elected chairwoman of the supervisory board of Allgäu GmbH.
