Albert Löhner

Albert Löhner (born October 2, 1948 in Stöckelsberg, municipality of Berg near Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate ) is an Upper Palatinate local politician and lawyer. From May 1, 1996 to April 30, 2014 he was District Administrator of the Neumarkt district in Upper Palatinate . From 2014 to 2020 he was mayor and member of the city council in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz . He is a member of the CSU .

Life

Albert Löhner attended elementary school in Stöckelsberg from 1954 to 1959. This was followed by attending the Eichstätter Willibald grammar school from 1959 to 1968. From 1968 to 1973 he studied law and economics at the Regensburg University . The course was followed by a legal traineeship from 1973 to 1976. From 1976 to 1979 he worked in a law firm. In 1979 he was employed as a councilor in the government of the Upper Palatinate. In 1980 he became department head for municipal affairs and training manager at the Neumarkt district office in idOPf. In 1981 he took over the department for planning and construction, environmental protection and water law. From 1988 to 1996, a CSU member, was mayor of the Upper Palatinate city of Berching . In the local elections in 1996, with the secret support of parts of the CSU (like his predecessor Josef Werner Bauer ) , he finally captured the vacant chair of the district administrator of the Neumarkt district idOPf. against the candidate nominated by the CSU. After his success, the CSU party leadership reconciled with him and in 2002 he was re-elected as a candidate for the CSU. Albert Löhner has also been a member of the Upper Palatinate District Assembly since 2008.

Since he had reached the age limit for district administrators in the 2014 local elections, Löhner no longer stood for election. His successor as district administrator was Willibald Gailler (CSU). Instead, Albert Löhner became a member of the city council of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz and was elected mayor on May 8, 2014. He did not run in the local elections in 2020 and ended his political career.

Albert Löhner lives in Neumarkt, is married and has two children.
