Johanna Rumschöttel , b. Breu (born October 30, 1946 in Schliersee ) is a Bavarian local politician ( SPD ). It was from 2000 to 30 April 2008, the first mayor of the municipality Neubiberg and from 1 May 2008 to 30 April 2014 District Administrator of the district of Munich .

Life

Rumschöttel was born as the first of two daughters to a businessman and a housewife. She grew up in Munich , but later moved to Unterschleißheim and finally to Neubiberg. Since 2000 she has had a second residence in Mauterndorf / Lungau in the Austrian state of Salzburg.

After graduating from the Luisengymnasium in Munich, she first completed basic commercial training. After that, she embarked on a senior civil service career and completed her training as a qualified librarian . After completing her studies, she took a 13-year career break because of the birth of her children. From 1985 to 2000 she worked as head of the community library and the cultural office of the community of Oberhaching .

Johanna Rumschöttel is married to the archivist Hermann Rumschöttel and has six children with him.

Act

In summer 2000 she was elected 1st mayor of her place of residence Neubiberg . She was confirmed in this office in 2006. From 2002 to 2014 she was also a member of the district council of the Munich district. In the local elections in March 2008 , she ran for the office of district administrator for the SPD and surprisingly prevailed against incumbent Heiner Janik in a runoff election with 54.1% of the vote . With Rumschöttel, the Social Democrats occupied the district administrator's post in the Munich district for the first time since 1945.

Rumschöttel was a member of the culture committee of the Bavarian Association of Cities from 2003 to 2008 and chairwoman of the administrative board of the Kreissparkasse München Starnberg Ebersberg from 2008 to 2014 . Since 2014 she has been chairwoman of the board of the Lebenshilfe München eV , chairwoman of the Catholic Council of the Munich region and chairwoman of the Munich district association of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge eV

Awards

On February 1, 2019, she was awarded the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver.
