Peter Hecker (District Administrator)

Peter Hecker (born July 11, 1899 in Munich ; † 1989 ) was a Bavarian local politician of the CSU and long-time district administrator of the Upper Bavarian district of Munich .

Life

Hecker was the son of the pediatrician Rudolf Hecker . From 1910 to 1917 he attended the Theresiengymnasium in Munich, then he took part in the First World War as an artilleryman. After studying law in Munich and Freiburg, he did his doctorate in Munich and established himself as a lawyer. In World War II he rose to major and was the commander of a motor vehicle division. In 1945 Hecker became a councilor in Grünwald , in 1946 a member of the district council in the Munich district and in 1948 its district administrator. From 1954 to 1966 he was also honorary president of the Upper Bavaria District Assembly . In the local elections in 1970, he did not run for reasons of age.

After his tenure as district administrator, from 1972 to 1979 he was chairman of the “Friends of the Open Air Museum South Bavaria”, which was then newly founded for the open-air museum in Glentleiten, and then its honorary chairman.
