Christoph Göbel (born December 19, 1974 in Munich ) is a German local politician ( CSU ) and lawyer . From 2003 he was the 1st mayor of the municipality of Graefelfing and has been the district administrator of the district of Munich since 2014 .

Life

Göbel was born the second of four children. After graduating from the Kurt-Huber-Gymnasium in Graefelfing in 1994 and completing military service at the Air Force Officer's School in Fürstenfeldbruck , he studied law and administration at the universities of Munich and Speyer . He has been married to his Mongolian wife Ochmaa since 2012, and the couple have two children. On his father's side he comes from an old Swiss family with u. a. Dutch and British roots. His great-great-grandfather was Willem Jan Holsboer , co-founder of the Rhaetian Railway and the health resort of Davos . He is a member of the Corps Transrhenania Munich .

Professional

As a trainee lawyer, he worked in the judiciary and administration of the Free State of Bavaria and in the legal department of the Bavarian State Parliament before he settled as an independent lawyer in Graefelfing in 2002 after successfully passing the second state examination . Before that he worked for the law firm Linklaters Oppenhoff und Rädler in Munich for five years .

He also works as a lecturer at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer and in the training of trainee lawyers at the government of Upper Bavaria . Until 2014 he was also an honorary judge in the disciplinary chamber of the Bavarian Administrative Court in Munich .

Politician

Göbel is a member of the CSU. In 1996 he was elected to the Graefelfing municipal council. In 2002 he took over the office of 2nd Mayor and in March 2003 he was elected 1st Mayor of Graefelfings. He held this office until April 30, 2014. In addition, he has been a member of the district council for over ten years, where he is the financial officer of the Munich district. With the confirmation of his mandates in the 2008 local elections , the district council unanimously assigned him the office of deputy district administrator.

In the local elections on March 16, 2014, he ran for the CSU as district administrator of the district of Munich . He received 42.7 percent of the vote, the SPD candidate Annette Ganssmüller-Maluche, who came in second, 28.4 percent. On March 30, 2014, he won the runoff election that was then necessary with 55.3 percent, thus winning back the office for the CSU. Since 2014, Göbel has been chairman of the planning association for the outer economic area of ​​Munich and vice-chairman of the association European Metropolitan Region Munich eV
