Rudolf craftsman

Rudolf Handwerker (born March 2, 1944 in Klingenberg am Main ) is a German local politician from Bavaria . From May 1, 1990 to April 30, 2014, he was District Administrator of the Haßberge district in Lower Franconia . He is a member of the CSU .

Life

Rudolf Handwerker studied law after high school and military service. In 1973 he was appointed to the government council and in 1977 to the senior government council.

In 1978 Rudolf Handwerker was elected First Mayor of Haßfurt . He held this office until 1990. In that year he was elected for the first time, as the successor to Walter Keller , to the district administrator of the district of Haßberge. In the subsequent local elections, most recently on March 2, 2008, he won the office again.

Handwerker has been a member of the CSU since 1975. He later became chairman of the Haßberge district association. From 1988 to 2008 he was chairman of the CSU in the Bad Kissingen constituency . He is Roman Catholic and the father of three children.

In 2009 he was awarded the Municipal Medal of Merit. In 2012 he received the Bavarian Order of Merit . In 2014 he was honored with the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver.
