Manfred Nink

Manfred Nink (born April 27, 1950 in Trier ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Education, work and family

From 1964 to 1968, Nink completed an apprenticeship as a car mechanic and then worked briefly in the profession. In 1969, Nink signed up as a temporary soldier until 1976 . From 1975 to 1978 he completed his training as a state-certified technician. Then he was an official of the middle technical service of the Bundeswehr administration in Homburg and Trier until 1996 .

Nink is married and has two children.

Nink has been a member of the SPD since 1969. However, he did not hold any offices until the 1990s. From 2001 to 2009 he was deputy chairman of the SPD regional association in Rhineland. In 2002 he was elected chairman of the SPD district association Trier-Saarburg . From 2002 to 2005 he was also a member of the state board of the Working Group for Employee Issues (AfA) in the SPD.

In 1994 Nink was elected to the local council in Kenn . From 1996 to 2009 he was also the local mayor of the community and from 1994 to 2005 a member of the Schweich municipal council and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

From 2001 to 2009 Nink was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . There he was a member and deputy chairman of the Committee on Economics and Transport.

Nink ran as a direct candidate for the constituency of Trier in the 2009 federal election . He lost to the CDU candidate Bernhard Kaster , but entered the German Bundestag via the Rhineland-Palatinate state list .
