Christian Knauer
Christian Knauer (* 2. July 1952 in Aichach ) is a German politician of the CSU . He was from 2002 to 2014 District Administrator of the district Aichach-Friedberg .
Life
Knauer's family comes from Giersdorf , Neisse district , in Silesia . Knauer completed a teacher training course at the Catholic University of Eichstätt and taught at various schools in the Aichach-Friedberg district. He is Senator hc from the Ukrainian Free University of Munich . From 1994 to 2003 he was regional chairman of the German-Korean Society in Bavaria. Knauer joined the Junge Union in 1972 . From 1978 to 1987 he was JU district chairman. He joined the CSU in 1973.
From 1984 to 1988 he was a city councilor in Aichach , from 1984 to 1996 a member of the district council of Aichach-Friedberg. In 1987 he was elected to the Bavarian state parliament via the Swabian CSU constituency list, and from 1990 directly elected to the constituency Aichach-Friedberg . At the same time as Education Minister Monika Hohlmeier , he was Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Education, Youth and Sport and Chairman of the working group of the same name in the CSU parliamentary group in the Bavarian State Parliament. He played a leading role in the introduction of the six-level secondary school in Bavaria. He was a member of the state parliament until April 30, 2002. From May 1, 2002 to April 30, 2014 he was District Administrator of the Aichach-Friedberg district.
In addition to his public offices, Knauer was deputy chairman from 1982 to 1997 and CSU district chairman from 1997 to 2009. Since 2010 he has been honorary chairman of his party's district association.
Knauer has been Vice President of the Association of Displaced Persons (BDV) since 2006 and its representative on the Bavarian Broadcasting Council since 2002 . He has been Deputy Program Committee Chairman there since May 11, 2017. He has also been the regional chairman of the BdV in Bavaria since 1999. He is a founding member of the Board of Trustees of the Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation Foundation based in Berlin. Since November 23, 2007, he has been chairman of the advisory board for issues relating to expellees and repatriates at the Bavarian state government. He has been a member of the foundation board “Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie” in Regensburg since January 1st, 2018. On March 21, 2018, the BdV Presidium sent Knauer to the Board of Trustees of the Cultural Foundation for German Expellees based in Bonn. On November 25, 1995 he founded the Schullandheimverein in the Aichach-Friedberg district, was its founding chairman and has been its honorary chairman since July 12, 2017. Knauer is married and has three children.
