Groppendorf is a district of the municipality of Erxleben in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The federal motorway 2 runs north of the village, to the west is Hakenstedt .

history

Groppendorf was mentioned in 1112 as a flu village. In 1910 there were 209 inhabitants in the rural community of Groppendorf and 74 in the Groppendorf estate . On September 30, 1928, the Groppendorf manor district was merged with the rural community of Groppendorf. In 1933 the volunteer fire brigade , which still exists today, was founded in the village . On July 1, 1950, Groppendorf was incorporated into Hakenstedt. On January 1, 2010 the incorporation into Erxleben took place.

Buildings

St. Mary's Church from the early 13th century is located in the village . Other listed buildings are the farm village road 7 and the Veltheimsche farm in the village road 13, 15, of the family of Veltheim on Castle Harbke belonged.

Personalities

The educator and local researcher Adolf Müller (1863–1919) was born in Groppendorf . The writer Christian Karl Plato (1760–1799) worked temporarily as a cantor in Groppendorf.
