badges and flags
The coat of arms was approved on September 11, 1996 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.
Blazon : “Split; in front in silver a red gold-armored eagle at the gap, behind three green ears next to each other. "
The coat of arms is the redesign of a previously unconfirmed image seal. With the red eagle at the gap, the community shows that it belongs to the Altmark. Everything that was south of the Bever became part of the Börde and everything that was north was included in the Altmark. The red eagle was chosen to highlight the "border situation". The old Bregenstedter seal had a "wild man with three ears of rye" as the seal image. The three ears of rye were borrowed from this. As community-specific, they symbolize as the main fruit once again belonging to the Altmark - compared to the wheat of the more fertile Börde.
The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg heraldist Erika Fiedler .
The flag is green and white striped with the municipal coat of arms.
