The Teufelssiepen rises in the nature reserve forest reserve Obereimer from a small pond at an altitude of 285  m above sea level. NHN northeast of the Gut Wicheln riding stables directly on the K 2. The source pond is located about one kilometer east of the Arnsberg district of Müschede .

About one kilometer down the stream , the Teufelssiepen crosses under the tracks of the Upper Ruhr Valley Railway , then flows past the mud ponds and finally flows out at an altitude of 169  m above sea level. NHN from the southwest and left into the Ruhr approaching from the southeast .
