    The Autostrada A19dir junction via Giafar forms the seamless extension of the A19 motorway from Villabate at the 0-kilometer junction to the confluence with the Palermo bypass . It consists of a 5.2 km long stretch with two lanes and two lanes in the direction of travel including hard shoulder and also forms the main traffic route between the city of Palermo and the state road 121 to Agrigento .

    Despite having an independent name and separate kilometers, the junction is often incorrectly defined as an integral part of the A19 motorway , partly due to the alphanumeric abbreviation A19 instead of the abbreviation A19dir in the traffic signs.
