The Rome – Latina motorway (numbering not yet known) is a planned Italian motorway that will one day connect Latina with the Italian capital Rome . The newly planned motorway will be built and managed by Autostrade del Lazio S. p. A. The start of construction for the 56 km long route is still open. The tender for the planning that was issued in June 2016 is being contested in court. The city governments of Rome and Latina, newly elected in June 2016, have meanwhile spoken out against the construction of the motorway.
It is planned to directly connect the motorway from the Rome – Fiumicino motorway or from the A12 Civitavecchia – Genoa with a new building. From there it will run in six lanes to Tor de 'Cenci and connect to the existing regional road SR 148 Pontina , which will be completely replaced by a new building from there to Aprilia Nord. From Aprilia to Latina it will be replaced by a new four-lane building. The construction of a rest area is planned in Aprilia. In total, there will also be two toll booths on the route. In the course of the expansion, the construction of the Cisterna di Latina - Valmontone expressway is also planned, which will connect the motorway near Latina with the A1 Rome-Naples .
