  • The Raccordo autostradale 2 ( Italian for 'motorway feeder 2') is a motorway feeder in southern Italy that connects the cities of Salerno and Avellino as well as the A3 with the A16 . It is located in the Italian region of Campania .

The Decreto Legislativo 29 ottobre 1999, n.461 did not include the RA 2 in the Italian motorway network, but classified it as a road of national interest . In 2001 he was given the designation RA 2 due to the Decreto del Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri del 21 September 2001 . However, the designation RA2 does not appear on the information boards along the route. The signs at the beginning of the motorway slip road show raccordo autostradale Salerno-Avellino , on the rest of the route raccordo SA-AV .

The motorway feeder is managed by ANAS .

The RA 2 has two lanes in each direction, with no hard shoulder . It is also part of the European route 841.

So far, the RA 2, like all the routes managed by ANAS, has been toll-free.

    Expansion to the motorway

The expansion of the RA2 into a motorway is to be commissioned in 2020/2021. The lanes are widened and provided with a hard shoulder. Furthermore, the entire route is to flow into the A16 at the Avellino est junction . For this purpose, the section of the A2 between the two nodes with the A30 and the A2dir NA will also be expanded with 3 lanes per direction of travel. After completion of the construction work, the entire RA2 is to be upgraded to a section of the A2 . The introduction of a toll is planned for this section.
