  • The Autostrada A30 ( Italian for 'Motorway A30') is an Italian motorway that runs from Caserta to Salerno in the Campania region . It has six lanes and is 55 km long. It is operated and managed by the Italian company Autostrade per l'Italia , so it is subject to tolls throughout its entire course.

    history

This short motorway was built to relieve congestion on the parallel and inadequately developed (also due to the terrain) motorway A3 Naples - Salerno and to create an efficient alternative. It was opened to traffic in May 1976. Today the motorway ends in the hinterland of Salerno; originally it was planned to continue building the motorway to Fratte and to connect it directly to today's A2 towards Reggio Calabria . However, the ANAS did not grant the concession for the last 15 km.

    course

At the junction with the A16 near Nola

The A30 begins north of the city of Naples at a junction with the A1 Milan - Naples . In the vicinity of Nola , it intersects the A16 Naples - Canosa and continues on past the villages at the foot of Vesuvius down into the Sarno valley . The end of the motorway is east of Salerno, where the motorway merges into the RA2 Avellino - Salerno . The A2 to Reggio C. can also be reached via this route .
