  • The Raccordo autostradale 5 ( Italian for 'motorway feeder 5'), also called Raccordo Sicignano-Potenza , is a motorway feeder in southern Italy that connects the regional capital Potenza with the Italian motorway network and the A2 . It is managed by ANAS .

The Decreto Legislativo 29 ottobre 1999, n. 461 did not include the RA 5 in the Italian motorway network, but classified it as a road of national interest . In 2001 another decree ( Decreto del Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri del 21 September 2001 ) classified the motorway slip road as RA 5 . The designation RA5 is displayed on the notice boards of the bridges.

The motorway feeder has four lanes (two lanes in each direction), without hard shoulder .

    Viadotto Platano

At Sicignano degli Alburni, the motorway slip road branches off from the Italian A2 motorway . It runs eastwards past Buccino and Vietri di Potenza. Here he leaves the Campania region and reaches Basilicata .

In the regional capital Potenza , the RA 5 forms the tangenziale di Potenza , the town bypass. After Potenza, it turns into the SS 407 Basentana , which runs as a four-lane state road to the coast of the Ionian Sea .

The route is part of the European route 847 .

Like most of the motorway access roads in Italy, the RA 5 is toll-free.
