Kathryn Lasky

Kathryn Lasky (born June 24, 1944 ) is an American writer. She writes fictional and non-fictional children's and youth literature as well as non-fiction.

Lasky grew up in Indianapolis . Today she is married to photographer Christopher Knight, has two children and lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts . In 1984 she received the Newbery Honor Award for her work Sugaring Time and in 2001 a Phoenix Award . Her best-known series of works is the 16-volume Legende der Wächter cycle ( Guardians of Ga'Hoole ), the first six books of which were filmed as The Legend of the Guardians . In total, she has written over 100 books. Other series set in the same world are The Wolf Clan , Thunderhoof Trail, and The Legacy of Ice Paws .
