  • The Autostrada A52 ( Italian for 'Autobahn A52'), also called Tangenziale Nord di Milano ( northern bypass of Milan) , forms the northern bypass of Milan . It is 13 km long and is managed by the Milano Serravalle - Milano Tangenziale SpA limited company .

    history

The northern bypass of Milan was the last section of the bypass around Milan and was opened by Milano Serravalle - Milano Tangenziale SpA in 1994. The whole plant suffered from a chronic lack of money, so that today many connection points are incomplete or missing in some directions.

The north bypass has the task of connecting the heavily urbanized and industrialized area of Brianza with the A4 Turin - Trieste motorway and the A51, the eastern bypass .

    Current condition

The A52 starts at 0 km near the town of Sesto San Giovanni at a junction with the Tangenziale est A51. The infrastructure connects with the A4 in the municipality of Monza and the municipality of Cinisello Balsamo the SS35 and the national road 46 Rho - Monza. Together with the A51 (Tangenziale Est) and the A50 (Tangenziale ovest) it forms the largest Italian ring system around a city. The route is used by around 76,000 vehicles every day.

It consists of two lanes in each direction plus one hard shoulder. Four of the approximately 13 km were built entirely in trenches in order to reduce the environmental impact on the area. The maximum permitted speed on the A52 is 90 km / h.
