The motorway slip road 1 (RA 1) (according to the ANAS number), better known as Tangenziale di Bologna (Tangente von Bologna) , is a traffic artery built in the form of a side road to the A14 and classified as a motorway . It runs north of the urban area of Bologna and connects the towns of Casalecchio di Reno and San Lazzaro di Savena .

The tangent (as an alternative junction between the A1, A13 and A14 motorways) also includes a junction (Ramo Verde) that separates from the main axis near Borgo Panigale and into the A14 in the La Pioppa area , near the homonymous Rest area, joins. The traffic artery has two lanes in each direction, including hard shoulder.

The designation RA 1 does not appear on any traffic signs. To get to the Tangente-RA 1, drivers must follow the traffic signs with the words tangenziale or the signs for the various towns or areas that can be reached.

The entire route is toll-free and is managed by the operator Autostrade per l'Italia .

history

The tangent was designed by engineers Francesco Fantoni and Giorgio Mondini and inaugurated on July 12, 1967 after three years of work.

Classification

The Bologna Tangent was classified as a motorway with dm of August 22, 1967 (OJ 275 of March 11, 1967) together with the first sections of the A14 to which it runs parallel.

Legislative Decree of October 29, 1999, n. 461 did not include the Bologna ring road as an Italian motorway, but as part of the normal road network of national interest. However, nothing has changed on the traffic signs (there are still traffic signs for the start and end of the motorway).

By decree of the President of the Council of Ministers of September 21, 2001 (Official Gazette No. 226 of September 28, 2001) the connection was assigned the number RA 01 .

Ramo Verde

This section connects the Bologna tangent to the A1 northbound ( Milan ). AISCAT regards this section as a branch of the tangent, but is indicated as A14 in the additional identification field of the overpasses .
